And it seems her best VMA days are behind her. But, to fuel the Britney Money Machine, many of you are still paying a lot of money to see her on tour, not even half the performer she once was. This, to answer your question Jackie, is the difference. That despite whatever suffering she has experienced, she is still a Commodity, poorly rebuilt, but meant to be Consumed. By choice? Debatable. And the discussion about that will continue forever. Especially when we’re “tribute-ing” her at not even 30.

Now I don’t know how legit this is but... I ... feel very uncomfortable even just imagining it. I feel very uncomfortable with the idea of Janet Jackson - JANET JACKSON! - working it to Slave 4U. I do not want to see Katy Perry throwing down Oops I Did It Again. I want Britney throwing down Oops I Did It Again! F-ck me, I can’t watch. F-ck me, I HAVE to watch. Her watching other people doing what she used to be able to do better.
