Congratulations to all of us!
We wake this morning to new pictures of Taylor Kitsch. And there are never any new pictures of Taylor Kitsch. But Taylor Kitsch’s John Carter opens in 6 weeks. Heavy promotion is ahead although today he was promoting another movie at a press conference in Japan for Battleship (which seems early). During the Super Bowl this weekend though, Disney paid a lot of money to run a John Carter ad with a contest - the teaser for the ad (even commercials have trailers now!?) is below. OK, the way that woman says “You’re John Carter the First?” (at least I think that’s what she’s saying) is making me want to bury myself, still alive, in a shallow ditch.
But... he looks great! Better than he’s looked in a while. Is it enough to make you want to see it? Both John Carter and Battleship? How’s this: I don’t want to see it, but I want all the people who saw Contraband, and Fast Furiousness, and Transformers, and Paranormal Activities etc etc to go over and over and over again...
Is that fair?
