Thursday night she hits a hockey game with that Chord kid from Glee. Pictures everywhere. Then she cycles the pre-Oscar party circuit with her bestie Emma Stone. Last night they wing manned for each other at Vanity Fair. It was one of Swifty’s strongest dress-up outings in a long time. A short, flirty, sexy dress. Her hair tucked up and grown up. Strutting into the place like a woman. Or trying to be at least.

Jake Gyllenhaal was at Vanity Fair. But you knew that already, didn’t you? She knew. She may not have known that Jakey’s ex Reese Witherspoon and her fiancé Jim Toth were there too, but Swifty did know about Jake. Of course she did. So this little outing? Oh they spent days working on this outing. Aesthetically then I think she did alright. Word is she and Jakey were talking alone in a corner for a while. No drama was observed, no making out ensued, and she did leave alone. But it would appear that they are on speaking terms, and if I know girls, she probably wouldn’t mind if they were on more terms, although despite her best efforts at the hair and the dress and the Chord pictures too, she may have fallen short of that goal.

On the plus side, Swifty met up with her friend Gwyneth Paltrow who introduced her to Valentino. If I were Gwyneth, I would check myself next time before posing with these children. Because, well, damn.
