I was gloating yesterday re: Taylor Swift’s new song Dear John being about John Mayer after he, obviously, f-cked her up during their secret relationship. Click here for a refresher on those lyrics. This girl does not mess. Prefer it so much more than when she’s aw-shucks-ing onstage after winning an award that she so clearly was going to win.
As for John Mayer – well, that bitch is probably hiding now. Because the media blitz for Speak Now, Swifty’s upcoming album, is exploding in his face. This is the cover of the new issue of People Magazine, just to make sure, you know, that everyone knows that he, in his 30s, decided to emotionally and perhaps sexually manipulate a 19 year old girl.
When asked point blank by the magazine whether or not Dear John is about John, Swifty “widened her eyes and avoided answering the question”. She did explain however that:
"A lot of times when people's relationships end, they write an e-mail to that person and say everything that they wish they would have said. A lot of times they don't push send. (Dear John) was a tough one to write and I guess putting it on the album was pushing send."
Oh but it’s not only John Mayer. She’s also bringing her girl sh-t into this business. Remember when Swifty got dumped by Joe Jonas over the phone and five minutes later he was dealing with that Camilla Belle? There’s a song on Speak Now called Better Than Revenge, about an “actress” in “vintage dresses” who walks around with an “ever-present frown”.
To her Swifty says: You might have him but I always get the last word.
People Magazine is suggesting that this might be Belle. Which means it totally is.
But they’re so amazingly entertaining when they’re 20 years old. They really, really are.
Here’s Taylor in London last night out for dinner. Speak Now drops next Tuesday.
