Dear Gossips,
When you have a few minutes today, please read The Hollywood Reporter’s Actors Roundtable featuring Samuel L Jackson, Michael Caine, Mark Ruffalo, Will Smith, Benicio Del Toro, and Joel Edgerton. It’ll take 5, maybe 6, tops. And it’s really, really, really funny.
Mark and Benicio don’t speak much, but they’re great, and share a cute moment together you will love. The reason they don’t get much time though is because Will Smith goes ON. I mean every time he talks it’s a sermon. But before you tap out and stop reading, Sam Jackson comes to save you. He interrupts Will several times. And every time it’s a poke. It’s a jab. It’s a little check – because Sam has no patience for Will’s kind of talk either.
You know what he sounds like, Will Smith? He sounds like a self-help book crossed with Tom Cruise. Self-help in that it’s all about finding a higher purpose (oh hey Xenu, what’s up?) and Tom Cruise in that the guy is practically humourless. Which is so weird. Both of them. Two men who smile SO much, are known for their big, charming smiles, and both seem incapable of laughing at that themselves.
Finally, bringing it all together, it’s Michael Caine. He’s the unpredictable uncle here who doesn’t give a f-ck anymore and says whatever it is that he wants to say, no matter how inappropriate. Click here to read the transcript. Let me know your thoughts.
