As you know, Mariah Carey is barely capable of walking and standing up by herself. If she could, she would go through life being carried everywhere. On several occasions she’s made this happen. One of my favourite stories of all time is when Mimi was attending some kind of party in her honour in England and made the car circle several times until there were enough people waiting for her arrival and upon arrival, seeing a large staircase, pouting for a security man to lift her up in his arms as she smiled and made baby faces all the way to the top.

With Mimi it’s expected...

But how about Anna Wintour?

Well, Tim Gunn says Anna Wintour is like Mimi when it comes to walking. Or not walking. In his new book Gunn’s Golden Rules, Gunn recounts his experience with Wintour in 2006 at a fashion show.

"I was with a colleague from Parsons, and we had been discussing the will-she-or-won't-she-take-the-elevator question, so we ran over to the elevator bay to see if Anna would deign to get on. She wasn't there. Then we looked over the stairway railing. And what did we see but Anna being carried down the stairs. The bodyguards had made a fireman's lock and were racing her from landing to landing. She was sitting on their crossed arms. I ran to the window to see if they would put her down on the sidewalk or carry her to the car like that. They carried her to the car. And I thought: I will never forget this."

Sure. Anna’s private elevator requirements are legendary. And it’s not like I don’t believe she believes she’s too good to take a public lift or that she’s worthy of being lifted manually everywhere she goes. It’s just...

It’s not possible to look chic while being carried fireman style down the stairs. Queen Noor couldn’t make that sh-t work. And not even Anna Wintour could make that sh-t work. Fashion is better when it’s standing. Fashion is never great sitting down. Would Anna voluntary put herself in a position where her outfit could be compromised? She’d rather be lowered by a crane. At least that way her dress wouldn’t wrinkle. Her reps are denying it.

More plausible is what Gunn revealed about Andre Leon Talley.
"When we return to the green room, we see that someone has spread a translucent barber's bib over Andre and he's reclining, his arms at his sides. He's being fed grapes and cubes of cheese one by one, like a bird in a nest."

Totally.

We saw him at the Oscars a couple of years ago, even during rehearsal it was full drama when his director’s chair, labelled properly of course ANDRE LEON TALLEY, wasn’t brought to him on time. Because his legs were tired. So WHY would he ever bother to feed himself? It’s a famine of beauty!

This, this is why he’s so much amazingness. Have you seen this video?
