Last night in Washington, Tina Fey received the 13 Annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humour at The Kennedy Centre. As noted previously, she’s the 3rd woman to be honoured with the distinction, and the youngest of them all. Tina Fey.
I have overheard conversations before between women who actually have said out loud that they’re not down with Tina Fey. Now I know that some people like red and others like blue but to me it’s not so much a case of preference, but a case of dumbassness. Tina Fey isn’t a preference. Tina Fey is, like, a prerequisite to being rational.
Anyway, here she is arriving with her husband Jeff Richmond in a really, really lovely black lace over cocktail dress that reminds me a little of Reese Witherspoon’s classic cap sleeve Valentino in 2002 that I’ve always, always wanted for my own except of course Tina’s is short, but just as flattering and so utterly perfect for the occasion I want to hug her. She would hate it. Tina doesn’t do fangirl. Good.
Also attached – all of her friends who came to celebrate her awesomeness including Amy Poehler, Seth Meyers, Jimmy Fallon, Jon Hamm, Steve Carell, Steve Martin, and Betty White. I’ve heard from a few of you who were planning on going. How was it?!?
