Tom Ford and his partner Richard Bentley are proud fathers of Alexander John Buckley Ford. Alexander was born on September 23. Tom is 51, Richard 64. Finally, a proper rival for the Blue Ivy Carter. And maybe a possible future hookup. Who else but the Baby Ford could know the lifestyle of the B.I.C.? Who else but the Baby Ford would have the same expectations and entitlement?
So many questions!
Will Tom insist on Alexander over Alex? When he grows up, will Alexander pointedly correct those who too casually and impertinently refer to him as Alex?
And who was the mother? Tom for sure would have used his offering over Richard’s. And there must have been an intense, gruelling, competitive competition for the egg. Please, PLEASE let there have been a runway involved. There’s also no way she’d be over 20.
So when do we get to see him?!?
Apparently Tom will not parent in the style of Brange, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Alba, and all the others. Supposedly there will be no arranged pap photos, no regular visits to the Brentwood Country Mart (as IF!) to be photographed Just Like Us.
Said Tom last year:
“I always said I wanted to have children. And as I got a little bit older, Richard, who I live with – we’ve been together 24 years – did not want children. And so I decided not to have children. But if I have children, no one will know about it until the child is born. And no one will ever see the child because I certainly wouldn’t use it as a press tool. If I have a child, you won’t notice that I had a child. Maybe you’ll see it when it’s 18, but I will keep it out of the spotlight.” (Source)
I’m inclined to believe him… only … baby clothes are SO cute! And Alexander John Bentley Ford’s bespoke baby clothes will be the CUTEST. Won’t he want to show that off?
