For the last couple of years, there’s been no label hotter than Gucci. Gucci was in Formation to begin 2016. And Beyoncé and the Blue Ivy Carter were seen in Gucci several times through the year. The best red carpet dress this year so far has arguably been the green parrot Gucci Nicole Kidman wore to the SAGs.
Alessandro Michele presented his latest Gucci collection yesterday to kick off Milan Fashion Week combining both the women and men’s Fall/Winter 2018 pieces. Many of the looks were outrageous. All of them, however, are exquisite. And if you strip away some of the more theatrical runway elements, most of them are totally wearable, especially for celebrities, and especially for major events. Like this gown – look at it, it’s gorgeous:
I’m obsessed with this dress:
Give it 5 minutes and Dakota Johnson’s going to show up somewhere in this one:
Last year, Tom Hiddleston was named the face of Gucci’s new cruise ready-to-wear collection and featured in the campaign. He was in Milan for the presentation after spending the weekend in LA junketing Kong: Skull Island. I wonder if that means he’ll miss Oscar weekend in LA. As you know, even if they’re not directly involved in the Oscars, most celebrities try to be in LA for the Oscars. It’s an unofficial working weekend. You want to be at the parties, you want to be seen, you want to be networking, you want to be kissing the right ass and, most importantly, not missing out on opportunities. Tom has never been to the Oscars. He’s never even been to the Vanity Fair Oscar party. And it’s not like he wouldn’t want to go. HIM?!?
