Dylan was at Comic-Con. He messaged me a photo of Jessica Biel’s shelf ass when she walked by him on the carpet. It’s extraordinary. Even more extraordinary is that I’m really into what she’s wearing here. That’s a great skirt. And those are great neon pumps - Brian Atwood. But you know, Alice & Olivia’s are a LOT cheaper and, in my opinion, because I have a pair in neon orange (click here to see), way more comfortable. They come in pink and green and yellow too.

Biel of course was at Comic-Con for Total Recall; hers is an “action girl” role. She’s also just been confirmed, just in time for her appearance in San Diego, to star in Hugh Jackman’s The Wolverine as Viper, also an “action girl” role, taking her back to her Blade days. These are the parts that make sense for her. Jessica Biel will never have the talent to be able to play in the same conversation as the Keira Knightleys, the Carey Mulligans, and the Anne Hathaways (remember when Biel wanted to be Fantine - click here for a refresher, OMG) of the world. She does however have a certain physicality which compensates for her shortcomings as an actor. She can hold a gun and run and shout all the same time reasonably well and if this is a deliberate career decision, to stop overreaching and excel in that wheelhouse, it is a good one. See Channing Tatum.

The Wolverine is expected to begin production in August in Sydney. Hugh Jackman is there now and was photographed at the beach the other day. As you can see by his physique, he certainly looks like he’s ready to become Logan again. Obviously Biel’s shoot schedule won’t be nearly as demanding as Jackman’s, but the timing is interesting considering the tabloids were predicting that she and Justin Timberlake would marry this summer. They can certainly find a two week window, no doubt, but given that both are attached to film projects (he’s in Puerto Rico working on Runner, Runner), it does leave room for the possibility of a longer engagement than initially expected.
