As promised in the previous post, I’m highlighting today the work of stylist Jason Bolden. Here’s a fun question: if you could be styled by either Jason or Law Roach, who would you choose?
Jason, in addition to all his other clients, works with Amandla Stenberg who is currently promoting The Darkest Minds. Look at this… what do you even call it? A tracksuit? A genie tracksuit?
Whatever you want to call it, I love it. And this colour, this saffron, it reminds me of one of the most celebrated Oscar dresses of all time: Michelle Williams in Vera Wang, 2006. Why don’t we see more saffron? This saffron is glorious on Amandla.

I’ve worn a pencil skirt with an extra swooshy side panel like that before. It’s FUN. And it gives the look some movement that you don’t get in a pencil skirt.
The Darkest Minds opens next week. And then, in a month, Amandla will be preparing for what could be the biggest film of her career so far: The Hate U Give, adapted from Angie Thomas’s book, my favourite book of 2017. The Hate U Give is world premiering at TIFF. I can’t wait to see it. I cannot wait to see how AmandLa will be styled for it.
