AMPAS has announced that it will NOT announce the names of presenters prior to the telecast meaning you’ll have to tune in to see if Reese and Jakey show up together and sit together, or if Christian Bale introduces The Dark Knight (should it receive a nomination), or if Julia Roberts will honk her goose laugh all over the Kodak.

You can assume a few though. Like the acting and directing winners from last year will be invited back to pass on the statue. So Marion Cotillard (yay!), and Daniel Day-Lewis, Javier Bardem, and Tilda Swinton should show up.

The Coen Brothers … maybe. You know how they are.

Me I don’t think it’ll make a difference. What will make a difference… the nominations. When Lord of the Rings was in the running, more people tuned in. Because it was a mass market movie. Naturally this opens the door for The Dark Knight. If the Academy is savvy, come next Thursday, TDK should get the call.
