George Miller, Chris Hemsworth, and Anya Taylor-Joy were at the Sydney premiere of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga today and since the film is about Furiosa, Anya is the main event. So we’re only talking about her, Chris can take a seat in his boring grey suit.
She is golden, as you can see, in a short embellished dress, playing up to the cameras, because there are arrows sticking out of her body and out of her head. This is archival Paco Rabanne Couture 1996 worn pretty much exactly as it was sent down the runway at the time. A stunt, and I do love a stunt, and she’s definitely working it but I do have a note – and it’s what I was talking about the other day when I posted about Anya in a casual outfit: “it’s kind of refreshing to see her not wearing an embellished gown with a headpiece for a change”.
Anya Taylor-Joy loves a headpiece!
Is it too much headpiece?
Can there be too much headpiece?
I actually don’t know how I feel about this. Because I also love a headpiece – the drama of a headpiece, the unapologetic extra-ness of a headpiece, especially in these quiet luxury times, headpieces are here to shake up the dull cashmeres and the understated greys. So maybe I just answered my own question.
No. It’s not too much headpiece. Give Anya Taylor-Joy all the headpieces that she wants on this press tour, let’s go.
