Busy Philipps keeps getting better. I’ve always really liked her style (and judging from my inbox, so do a lot of you) and I don’t just mean red carpet; her day-to-day looks are so assured and cool. It’s very Gen X vintage, a bit experimental and individualistic. At a time of uniform dressing and everyone wanting to dress like a cashmere hot dog, scroll her feed when you need a shot of fun.

I received a request for her denim dress (sorry Kelly, the photo didn’t come through!) and I think it’s this one (flip to second slide to see it). This is exactly what I mean and it’s not just that she throws on something expensive, she mixes in her forever wardrobe pieces. This is the Magda Butrym Blue Bustier Denim Minidress. I saw a few sale pieces floating around but not much stock left.

Judy Greer: The BFF bag

Last week I posted a photo carousel of Jennifer Garner and Judy Greer in Paris together, being besties. I was asked about her bag and I found it, it’s Clare V.’s leather top handle bag, from a previous season, but I did see on The Real Real

There is a red woven bag in the current collection. (Thanks Amber!)

Cate Blanchett’s slinky necklace

OK I have to admit until I saw this request, I had never heard of Black Bag with Cate Blanchett. A reader is looking for the necklace she is wearing in the film and you know what’s frustrating? The wardrobe has been covered a few times with interviews from the stylist and the only thing not identified is the jewelry!

What I did note is that costume designer Ellen Mirojnick said she started with the necklace, which is 22k gold. That’s what to look for and it’s much more important than the designer: a short chain in herringbone (like this 18k one from Mejuri). Depending on your comfort level and body, a 16” chain may sit just right. For a little longer, Jenny Bird has this 18.5” Paloma chain. If you want to do some hunting, look for box chain or snake chain, you want links with no space between. (Thanks Elizabeth!)

Also, I realize the necklace isn’t even visible in this photo, it’s all I have to give.

Sigourney Weaver in Holes

Yes, I got a request from 2003. Yes, I looked earnestly for this blouse because I get it: Sigourney Weaver looks badass. Again, it’s from 2003 (or probably earlier) but I’m guessing by the look of it, a silk/cotton blend. Maybe Ralph Lauren? There’s actually some very similar blouses on Etsy. This is one of those pieces that becomes a mission, something you look for for years and years until one day, you walk into the right shop at the right time and you find it. (Good luck, Rachel!)

PS: Meghan, I received your request for The Life List and haven’t had time to watch it yet but I’m on it.

Here's Busy Philipps last week at the premiere of Dying For Sex.
