We’ve got a full one today. Is it the spring shopping bug? Right now I’m contemplating the Coaches jacket from Aritzia (do not make this MF sell out!) and the Alaia mesh Mary Janes but like where am I wearing mesh flats? I live in sneakers. This is when it’s important to be brutally honest with oneself and use some cart willpower – I load things in my cart and leave them for a few days. If I forget about it, I know I didn’t really want it.
Gwyneth’s Perfect Jeans
“Perfect” is of course subjective when it come to clothing and especially to denim, but many of us are coveting Gwyneth’s blue jeans. How hard can it find to be jeans? Very! One of the trickiest request items, next to belts, which I’m 50/50 on identifying. So back to these: the colour, the way they fall, the long crotch, the cut – like a mix between a boyfriend and barrel jean but no tears. I’m convinced these are from her closet because this was a promo post for Goop and the jeans are not tagged.
Goop’s social media person, whose job it is to engage and promote their products, has not answered anyone who asks about them. If these were on Goop or coming soon to Goop, that would be mentioned. These are from Gwyneth’s old closet, probably old (old denim is the best denim). These are buttery. I was ready to call it a day on these but then came across a strong possibility – Khaite jeans. This pair in particular caught my eye and keep in mind, Gwyneth is pretty tall because the length of jeans always throws me off. My only quibble is that if you look closely at Gwyneth’s photo on the right, there’s a blue tab near her pocket. Is that her keys or something or is it a label? I can’t tell from this image. (Thanks Chelsea!)
A note on Lily Allen’s Scarf
Yes, it’s Burberry but oftentimes celebs are given items to wear to the show that are not yet available in retail. Or, it is available but not online. I’d call a store or pop in if there’s one in your city. I have yet to find this online but will keep it mind. (Thanks Bozena!)
Bella Hadid’s white wellness cardigan
Bella Hadid’s morning routine TikTok is sending the internet into overdrive but please, this is Yolanda Hadid’s daughter! If you watched her on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, you know the lemon doesn’t fall far from the tree. (IYKYK.) As for her sweater, it’s Orseund Iris’s Weekend Knit Cardigan and still available. It looks so different on the model than it does on Bella so it took me a minute to clock that it’s the same sweater. I guess that’s what makes Bella a supermodel – the clothes do transform on her.

Rebecca Hall’s Chanel look
Ughhhhhh I love this Chanel look on Rebecca Hall and the stylists do too as it has been worn multiple times in editorial shoots. The clashing patterns and the signature tweed, it’s so good. A memorable look. I received a request for the skirt and the thing with Chanel is it’s not often imitated because it’s so hard to do. (I have also heard Chanel is pretty active in making sure brands don’t promote themselves as “Chanel-like” and highly discourage editors from using that phrase as well. I did come up with a few options but unfortunately the sizing sucks (not a good enough range of options) and there’s really limited stock. With that in mind, here’s some I like.
Balenciaga makes a pink tweed skirt, still very expensive but definitely my favourite of the bunch (sizing is extremely limited).
This Staud skirt has a similar stripe pattern to the Chanel. This Zimmerman skirt has vertical stripes (rather than horizontal) but the essence of the colour palette is in line with the Chanel.
Mango has this houndstooth skirt (Mango actually does a ton of “Chanel-like” pieces) that is sold out on it site but there are a few floating around at department stores. And I saved this Sandro piece for last because it’s not pink but it is very close to a Chanel look and there’s a matching jacket. (Thanks Jean!)
