A JLo denim request – again!
JLo loves love and she loves JEANS. She’s been wearing a couple pairs pretty consistent. One is drawstring – they are Isabel Marant Jordy high-rise wide-leg jeans (PEOPLE posted a bunch of dupes if you are interested). The other is the very distinct flared jeans with exposed buttons; her fan site identified them as Gucci (and not available – I also checked).
And it got me thinking: are jeans ever worth over $1000? It’s hard to say because things are “worth” what we are willing to pay for them but also, if we look at CPW (cost per wear), a pair of jeans can go for years. Designer handbags and shoes are so, so expensive and we’ve accepted it. Considering how many times a week jeans can be worn, they are more useful than a pair of Loubotins that only get pulled out for special occasions.
Tennis core on the red carpet
I agree with Go Fug Yourself’s assessment of Hannah Waddingham because it does FEEL like she’s always in a sweeping gown. Of course she isn’t, but this woman is extremely put together (which I also found in her styling on Ted Lasso, it was very sharp). Lainey posted about her tennis core look and I was asked about the knit vest – it is The Upside Bleecker Quinn Sweater Vest. It’s on sale at Anthropologie right now (depending on your shopping location, here’s a link) .
Eniko Hart’s Date Night Dress
I feel like the Harts go on a lot of date nights as they often post photos like this, really done up. Eniko has great style but I haven’t been asked about her – until now! The dress is (sold out) Acne Studios and she looks phenomenal in it. I would describe this as a shredded tank dress and it’s a nice change-up from the mesh dresses we’ve been seeing. Acne is one of those brands I check in with again and again because it has very cool cuts and colour palettes (the brown here is a much stronger choice than black) and it has remained largely unbranded in a sea of monograms.
One thing I need to point out here though is the styling. The shoes are OK (I feel like we saw so many sparkly open-toe sandals this year at the MET, I’m a little worn out on them) and the boxy YSL bag is bordering on ugly. Someone in the comments wrote, “She’s got the limited edition YSL happy meal” and I laughed way too hard. I knew the shape was familiar! That said, she’s got enough money to use a bag once and pack it away forever without a second thought, so it’s not like she’s committed to this style.
