Jenna Bush Hager’s tennis necklace
When this request came in for Jenna Bush Hager’s necklace (not the chunky ones or the long ones or the pendant – the short chain), I had a feeling it was Jennifer Meyer. Her jewelry is loved by celebrities and has a distinctly understated look. Her pieces are often worn on red carpets and the point is that it’s not a honking chain. It’s always very subtle gold pieces, typically with plenty of layering. To give you an idea, Jen M.’s bestie Jennifer Aniston has been wearing it for years on red carpets and in films. Can you think of one memorable piece of Jennifer Aniston jewelry? Exactly.
JBH often wears piles of necklaces and really big pendants but this one tennis necklace is a staple. The reason I think it’s from the Jennifer Meyer line is because of the square cut and length. There are very few tennis necklaces like this out there and the scarcity shows in the price – it’s over 10k. The line’s least expensive necklaces start at $300 and run into the 6 figures.
I set out trying to find some dupes but buying a necklace like this is hard. Quality metal and construction is priority when the piece is this simple. If it is tarnished or stiff, it won’t work. I did find a few options from brands I have purchased from, like this Priya snake chain from Jenny Bird and the Curb Chain from Mejuri.
Kathleen’s kicks
I was so pumped to get this request for Kathleen’s sneakers in my inbox because I love looking at her outfits on Instagram and she absolutely killed it at the Oscars. The behind-the-scenes gossip correspondent we want and need! I was specifically sent the sneakers from this montage and they are adidas x Ivy Park Super Sleek Chunky Sneakers and there are a few sizes left on FarFetch and I noticed a few kicking around on resellers.
D’Arcy’s striped sweater
The thing about D’Arcy Carden is I love her. When she shows up in a scene, I know it’s about to get better. Did you know she was a nanny for Bill Hader’s children? And then she was on Barry! I love those kinds of stories. Anyways, here she is in an ideal SXSW outfit, with the slightly cropped striped sweater that I think Lainey will like. It’s by No. 6, a brand I’m not familiar with but after one scroll through the looks, I want several pieces like this denim jacket with the big front pockets. The spring shopping itch has been activated.
