The last time we saw Beyoncé was on the weekend, at the Wearable Art Gala to receive a reward but, really, to honour Miss Tina. There were a couple of low-quality fan videos updated to social media of Beyoncé that night. But no proper photos. And, please note, there was a red carpet at the event. Here are Miss Tina and Richard Lawson posing on it and almost every celebrity who attended posed on it – those shots are available from the photo agencies:
What’s not available from the photo agencies is any shot of Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and the Blue Ivy Carter on the carpet. They did pose on the carpet though.
This happens all the time. I’ve written about it when it happens. Somehow Beyoncé gets on a carpet, gets rid of the photographers at the carpet, positions her own photographer at the carpet, and secures her own pictures that she then releases on her own media accounts.
Yeah, so? What’s the big deal?
The big deal is that the area probably has to go on lockdown. Because you can ask the professional photographers to leave but how do you stop a guest from getting a shot on their phone? Somehow that never happens. Not at the film premieres, not at the galas. This is how particular she is. And how good the Beyoncé machinery is at … whatever it is that they have to do to maintain this kind of photo protection.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z have been in Jamaica the last few days. The speculation is that they’re there to film pieces for the On The Run 2 tour.

If you were at One The Run a few years ago, you probably remember the short segments that aired in between songs, many of them were in black and white. Did you see the HBO special? It was clip after clip of the Bonnie & Clyde thing that they do. She looks, like, CRAZY beautiful in all of them. Here, watch the first two minutes of this, you’ll get the idea.
Yesterday several more dates were added to the tour schedule. When I saw the headline I was like YES! TORONTO!
No.
No Toronto.
Does she hate Toronto? Do they hate Toronto? Is it anything to do with Drake? This is what some people are wondering about? Touring is about money. There’s a lot of money to be made in Toronto. Toronto isn’t usually a city that gets skipped on a tour.
That said, for those of you who’ve been kind enough to ask after my panicking last week over what to do about tickets, I have two tickets – for the Vancouver show on October 2, which will now not be the final stop on the tour. Seattle is looking like the last stop, unless they add even more dates.
As soon as I got my tickets, I submitted my vacation request at work. Because, as I said, Beyoncé doesn’t just take my money, she also takes my holidays. The bosses have not yet approved my holiday. This is the major stress of my life right now.
