Dear Gossips,

Who else would I be writing about in this space today? Just one more sleep and then it’s time, time for Beyoncé’s act ii, COWBOY CARTER, and the worldwide gag that’s about to ensue. Because while we can never predict Beyoncé and what she’s been planning, what we can say for sure is that she will meet the hype, as she always does.

Still, it’s fun to obsessively follow all the speculation. As of this writing, Beyoncé has yet to release a track list, so we’re all here wondering who may or may not be featured on the album. There are a lot of people who think that Lady Gaga might be a part of it, especially since they already collaborated on Gaga’s “Telephone” in 2009 and “to be continued” was promised at the end of that video when they’re making their getaway in the Pussy Wagon. And of course all the “Telephone” references that keep popping up on Gaga’s social media and the accounts of their associates.

Then there’s this TikTok that was posted yesterday:

Did Beyoncé just give us a clue about Lady Gaga on Cowboy Carter?! #beyonce #cowboycarter #ladygaga #fyp

But even if it’s not Gaga there are so many other names coming up.

A Beatles cover?!

By 12:01am on Friday morning we’ll probably realise that we’ve been clowning ourselves, again. What we can and should take more seriously is the studying – there will be so much to unpack and if you’re a keener and want a head start, Vox published a great piece yesterday by Avishay Artsy on the “century of history of Black country music”. Also, Taylor Crumpton was one of the first to predict after RENAISSANCE that Beyoncé would be coming for country and she has a new op-ed in Bloomberg about Beyoncé’s album cover and what it means for Black Texans

Can tomorrow night be here already?!

Yours in gossip,

Lainey
