Dear Gossips,
The Beyoncé takeover… is also… a solar eclipse?
The solar eclipse is happening on Monday. And yesterday Beyoncé gave us a new website with a mystery purpose. BEENCOUNTRY.com came up yesterday and it’s an archive photo of Beyoncé at the Texas Sweetheart Pageant from when she was a little girl, plus a yearbook photo of Miss Tina with the misspelled last name that was given to her ancestors (BEYINCÉ), a current shot of Beyoncé is furry chaps, and a banjo. With the caption:
This isn’t a country album.
This is a Beyoncé album.
When you click on “Join” it just takes you back to Beyonce.com. In other words, no explanation, no currently known purpose. Which means, of course, speculation.
The easiest assumption is tour. Is this where she’ll be announcing the tour? But why a separate website for the tour? Her own website has been around for years – if you want to make sure people find the quickest way to access tickets, you direct them to the most familiar page.
Merch? You can already buy merch at her website.
Could it be that BEEN COUNTRY is where she’s dropping something else? Like the visuals? Music videos?
And when will we know? This is where it comes back to the solar eclipse. Some fans think that Beyoncé will make the next reveal on Monday, the day of the solar eclipse.
walk with me— she's been showing eclipse imagery since 2021 , the album has been 5 years in the making , yes there have been eclipses before this but this timing feels different , just watchðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ https://t.co/0OMRVlXSpd

Meanwhile, she also dropped a fire remix for “Texas Hold ‘Em” with a new verse and this version is now surging up the charts. But, of course, there should always be studying to go along with the fun so new course materials have been updated, including Tressie McMillan Cottom’s new essay for the NYT that’s a must read, to go along with Doreen St Felix’s piece at The New Yorker that was published a couple of days ago.
Cowboy Carter is also a professor. And Professor Carter expects you to do the reading!
Yours in gossip,
