There have been a few surprise albums during quarantine (most notably, Taylor Swift) - is Sam Smith next?
Yesterday I pre-ordered the Taylor Swift cardigan because the stars on the sleeves really got me, I’m only human. During the Lover era, she partnered with Stella McCartney and I didn’t like it one bit (the style or the price point) and folklore is pretty removed from that. In Canada, where I shop, there’s only a handful of pieces; the most expensive one is an $80 hoodie, so it’s much more accessible. But there’s still a Stella connection – the coat will be part of a capsule collection. It is a great coat, a classic that will live in a closet forever.
Yesterday, Cody wrote about some of the gross reactions to Megan Thee Stallion’s assault (catch up here). Since her Instagram Live, she posted flowers and a note from Rihanna (flip to the last slide to see) and a big bag of candy (such a good get well gift!) from Lizzo.
Madonna posted something that was flagged by Instagram for disseminating false information relating to COVID-19 (I’m not going to repost it or give the conspiracy any more attention that it has already gotten). This is very disappointing behaviour on her part and I really, really hope that the people she surrounds herself with are smarter than that Instagram post.
The Martha Stewart Thirst Trap Selfie Challenge should be a widespread event but there’s a hindrance: most people do not have pools in their yard. This is J. Cameron Smith (Gerri!), one of the few Succession castmates who did not get an Emmy nod (more on them below). Still, she’s the breakout fan favourite, along with Cousin Greg, and I am dying for this show to come back (they haven’t even started filming yet). Geri and Roman definitely found a way to quarantine together, right? Work is the perfect cover for them.

On Succession: so much celebration. The EW quotes are amazing: chicken and rosé (even though it’s not Cousin Greg’s favourite). And Kieran Culkin going full Roman: "It’s me and Matthew and Nick in this category. Yeah. It’s kind of nuts. I’m going to have to kick Nick Braun in the balls if he beats me that’s all."
