Victoria Beckham covers Elle France in anticipation of her Mango collaboration (there are a few preview shots in Vogue as well). Victoria’s pieces are expensive and limited and she is very big on tailoring.
She has done collaborations before (with Reebok and Target) but at one point she had a denim line. That’s to say that she’s worked at a lot of different price points and along with beauty, perfume and eyewear, is it time for a mid-range price option? I think so, I think the demand is there. One thing I would like to see if she expands her line is size range. It’s too limited.
Watching Zendaya do press for Challengers has been a treat and it got me thinking about how “dressing the part” is increasingly popular. We saw it with Barbie, to the max, and with some of the Marvel movies (notably Black Panther and Captain Marvel), as well as Daisy Jones and the Six and Feud: Capote vs. The Swans. We are already seeing it with Wicked. These big press tours take a lot of work and planning and working in marketing cohesion adds another layer for the stylists. From a work perspective, it’s a challenge and very, very expensive.
OK I’m extremely into the news of a Melrose Place revival with some of the original cast attached because we need more power bitches on TV. Did Amanda become an Almond Mom influencer? Is Sydney Andrews married to a shady crytpo bro? I’m assuming the 2009 reboot will be ignored. It’s a soap opera, continuity is not the main goal here.
Vanity Fair asks the question I’ve been ruminating on: is The Rock pivoting to the right? I think what Dwayne Johnson wants more than anything is to be popular and liked. Right or left is secondary to his ego. He will swing whichever way the wind blows.
But why go on a politically charged show and not talk politics? It goes back to wanting to be liked, all the time. He has not said anything substantive in years about any social, political or world issues and you can’t run a platform on “authenticity” when you are being authentic to nothing but your own brand. If I’m being generous, perhaps he is planning to run for office one day and he doesn’t want anything on the record he will have to later explain. That may be strategic but it’s pretty weak leadership.
As the buccal fat removal phase died, a new procedure is quickly rising to treat “Ozempic hands.” Basically the fat loss makes hands look shriveled and skeletal and this treatment restores volume. “Ozempic face” and “Wegovy butt” are also things but I’m choosing to ignore it. Very normal society we have.
Boomer Dynasty (Yellowstone) will never let us know peace because apparently Kevin Costner wants back in to finish the story. Wrap it up, people.
