Lainey has the TNT Coachella coverage up and of course, all eyes were on them. These kind of big events, much like the Super Bowl, bring out all kinds of celebrities. The Biebers are regulars at Coachella, which makes sense as they spend a lot of time in Palm Springs. And Justin had friends there, like the Smith family.
Taylor and the Bieber have been circling each other at various events but there are two layers here to the freeze: Scooter AND Selena. The Scooter of it all is complicated (who knows if Justin is even in contact with him) but the Selena drama has remained strong. If Taylor were to even be in the same shot as the Biebers, it would be cataclysmic for all the fandoms. Which, obviously, would be great gossip. Sometimes the chess pieces need to be moved around, social circles change. Celebrity feuds that move to friendship (see: Katy and Taylor) keep things fresh.
Podcasts that examine popular TV shows like The Office, The Sopranos and Friday Night Lights are pretty popular, but I am surprised to see this one popping up for This Is Us because it only ended two years ago. Mandy Moore, Sterling K. Brown and Chris Sullivan are hosting. I know people adore them and the show; it will be well-received.
The reviews are dropping for Nicola Peltz-Beckham’s film and… it’s pretty much what you’d imagine. This comes on the heels of her dad Nelson losing his fight with Disney in a very public way, so the Peltzes are having a month.
As for Nicola, I’m kind of torn about these vanity projects because on the one hand, it amplifies what so many creatives say about how money people don’t know art or audiences. But on the other hand, it was self-funded so worst case scenario is actors and a below-the-line team got paid (hopefully fairly) for a billionaire-heiress ego boost. It’s work experience for them, and a dinner party story. Nicola didn’t take this opportunity from another director or a studio budget. And isn’t it amazing how she now gets along so swimmingly with her very-well-liked mother-in-law? Just as she’s coming into a round of bad press. What an amazing turn of events.
Like Megan Fox, I don’t watch Love Is Blind and like Megan Fox, I believe this woman has been compared to Megan Fox in real life. And I like the way Megan handled it. On the personal front, it seems like Megan and MGK are on the outs, again? And we are creeping towards a permanent split.
