Kate Hudson hit the Oscar parties as she does every year and her oldest son Ryder attended some events with her. Is he getting ready to take a crack at the family business? Kate’s parents held her off acting until she was 18 (the same age Ryder is now) so it would fit a family pattern.
One way we can analyze the way celebrities use social media is the ways they don’t use it at all. Selena Gomez is at a great place in her career and gossip-wise, is long past the dramatic romance of her late teens/early 20s. She’s thrived by staying off Instagram and, even though she is still one of the most followed accounts in the world, hasn’t actively engaged in it for four years. Sometimes social media can be used for celebrities to wrestle control of their image, and sometimes giving up social media is a way for them to have control. Considering how much these platforms have devolved (Instagram is a mess and there’s data to back up the intense harassment some people face on the platform), it’s hard to see the value for an already-established celebrity.
Noel Gallagher said that Harry Styles’s music is “worthless” and described “Sign of the Times” as a song a "cat could write that in 10 minutes". I’m a huge Harry Styles fan and this made me laugh so hard because OF COURSE Noel is a crusty old fart, that’s his entire schtick. He rarely compliments anyone and being insulted by him is standard. His team turned the comments off his Instagram because he f-cked with the wrong ones when it comes to fandoms. And I suspect Harry just gained a massive new fan: Liam Gallagher.
I was digging for some info on Hacks because I heard it’s filming again and um, the co-creator Lucia Aniello is married to Paul W. Downs (who plays Deborah and Ava’s agent and he’s also a co-creator, along with Jen Statsky). This is important!!!
That said, Hacks season two is almost ready and I cannot wait. Kayla (Meg Stalter) is such a demon and I love her.
Zoë Kravitz had a bit of a sh-t week on Twitter so this is a social media bandage. No one is mad at Lenny and Lisa Bonet content (and yes, Jason Momoa left some heart emojis in the comments).
Barbra Streisand’s underground mall is a pretty well-known celebrity real estate legend that sounds fake but is real. Right now, she’s had to depart the main house for her B&B (also on her property). I always thought B&B meant “bed and breakfast,” which to me connotes a rentable space. Barbra is not doing that, so is B&B just a fancy way of saying guest house?
