What is going on with Twitter? The blue checks are supposed to be expiring unless users pay for it but so far, it doesn’t seem like many of them are removed. Most users are saying they will not pay for it, including LeBron James. This reminds me of how good he was in Trainwreck, with much of his character built around his frugality (which friends and teammates like Dwyane Wade have poked fun at). Probably the best athlete-playing-himself performance I’ve ever seen.

Of course the inane thing about Twitter’s plan to remove free blue check marks is that for years it has had celebrities, who can make millions of dollars on social media, creating viral content for free. Taking that authentication away doesn’t seem like the best business decision.

Drake stopping to say hi to a table of moms is pretty cute.

Kaley Cuoco debuts her baby girl, Matilda Carmine Richie Pelphrey. I like all the name choices happening here.

This little tidbit in Deadline is interesting: Netflix has ordered its first pilot for a comedy, Little Sky starring Samara Weaving. Typically, Netflix orders an entire season, not a single test episode. Deadline writer Nellie Andreeva points out why this new-to-Netflix model is important for comedies. Until now, Netflix has shunned the typical network process of using a pilot as a cast screen test for chemistry and could signal a huge shift in how shows get greenlit.

So, a weird story about Angelina Jolie’s “entanglements” in the New York Post. I would hardly say she’s entangled in anything – she’s had a very, very low-key private life. If she is entangled, we don’t know about it. And why would any source close to her or The Weeknd confirm a hook-up? This seems suspect to me.

Why is the Yellowstone cast so dramatic? They were set for a panel at Paley Fest with super creator Taylor Sheridan and stars Kevin Costner, Wes Bentley, Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, Luke Grimes, Kelsey Asbille, Gil Birmingham, and Jack Weaver. At the last minute, everyone was swapped out for actors with smaller regular roles. If Costner didn’t show, what’s the benefit of pulling the rest of the cast? They would still generate a lot of interest. It also seems kind of sh-tty that the actors lose out on a chance to talk about their work.

He ate Roman and Greg but Shiv needs work. In his defense, she’s a tough one. (And the way Sarah Snook is playing Shiv like an exposed nerve this season – incredible!)
