I have been reading, and re-reading, The Ringers “The 100 Best TV Episodes of the Century”. A lot of it I agree with (like “Bitch Slap” and “Forgive and Forget”). I would have chosen different for The Sopranos, The Walking Dead, Friday Night Lights, Game of Thrones, Lost and Breaking Bad; the episodes that made it are excellent, they just wouldn’t be my first choice. So much of this comes down to personal preference, which makes it fun to fight about.
In today’s post about Rihanna’s British Vogue cover, Kathleen wondered if the thin eyebrow is coming back. I mean, I could never. And you know what else I could never do? The sexy cowboy hat. Do you remember it from the 90s? Not as ubiquitous as the handkerchief top, but it certainly had a moment (right around the same time mechanical bulls in bar were considered a good time).
You know who loves a yacht in the summer? Chris Rock. He’s not at Leo level, but it’s definitely a tradition. Here he is with Guy Oseary, Lars from Metallica, Woody Harrelson, Sacha Baron Cohen, Matthew McConaughey and Bono. I skipped one person because I don’t recognize him. Lainey will probably know.
Kathleen was right – there is no way she would let Skepta announce something over social media. And with this photo she is telling everyone to mind their damn business.
For purely cosmetic reasons, I’ve recently started wearing a straw hat anytime I’m outside. I feel like a pretentious Coachella asshole, but at least my skin is safe. Gucci has some amazing straw hats right now – at over $800. I understand why designer clothes and shoes and bags cost a lot (materials, labour, exclusivity). But straw does not need to cost that much? Some items of clothing are meant to be inexpensive.
Catherine Zeta-Jones has said before that their children want to be actors. The Douglas family has a legacy and Catherine is leaning into that. She is being strategic in her use of it, and setting them up to take over the family business one day. One of the many, many advantages their children have is the time to wait for the right part. They don’t have to do Doritos commercials if they don’t want to.
Nina Agdal and Leonardo DiCaprio dated for a year, splitting up in May of 2017 when she was 24 –we know he rarely goes over 25 (for a deep dive into the age gaps, check out this helpful InStyle guide). Fast forward a couple of years and she’s dating Jack Brinkley-Cook, who is 23-years-old, three years younger than her. He posts about her on social media all the time, she hangs with his family, and they seem serious. And it’s made me wonder about Leo’s exes – does he break hearts? Or is the break-up considered a rite of passage for them. A relationship with him is like a carton of milk in the fridge – expiration is inevitable.
