Everybody showed up for Dr. Dre day at the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Even Eminem, who rarely makes it to LA. Dr. Dre is someone who has struggled with his place in music and rap dominance but a lot of that seems to have washed away with the creation of Beats, which turned him into a mogul.
But just like pop stars, rap and hip-hop stars are not immune to the march of time. A lot of acts go from top 40 to nostalgia real quick.
I have this The Daily Beast article bookmarked to read later today but the title has me intrigued: Is This The End of Coachella? It’s a great question as ticket sales have been sluggish and the general buzz around it has dwindled.
Many pop stars have faded from glory and it makes sense that festivals can, too.
The Rock doing his skin care routine for Vogue is a new lane of influencing for him. Has he ever been to the MET Gala? I did a quick search and couldn’t find any photos. This could be his debut year!
MGM is denying the Bruno Mars gambling debt story (with reports ranging from $30-$50 million). They are working with him and I don’t think it’s in a hotel’s interest to be blabbing about their top clients’ debt.
But besides Bruno, I think that gambling is a real issue for some celebrities, some who brag about it constantly on social media. Sure they have seemingly endless amounts of money (they don’t, but it seems like it) but there’s also the unhealthy mental and emotional toll of any addiction.
But back to Bruno and something that’s already been touched on but is worth mentioning again: is that B for Beyoncé? Yes it could be for Bruno but is it for BEYONCE? She really likes working with him.
Since Beyoncé keeps us guessing, here are my other picks: The Chicks, Dolly Parton and Maren Morris. And, and, and… Tracy Chapman. I’m throwing everything at the wall hoping it sticks. I really have no idea and am consistently surprised by her.
