To quote Kelly Kapoor, “Yeah. I have a lot of questions. Number one: how dare you?”

Yesterday I wrote about Harry Styles releasing his new album, but I misread that date as November 16 (that is when he is doing SNL). His album is dropping on December 13. As a reader called Julia pointed out, this is Taylor Swift’s birthday. Not just her birthday, but her 30th birthday. She is creeping back into performative friendship territory, so there could be a big party and even if there isn’t, it will be TS30 all over social media...

There are many ways to analyze the December 13 choice on Harry’s part: is it a throwdown? Is it an oversight? (Kind of impossible, considering his team must have checked the date.) Does it just work for his promo schedule? Going by Harry’s history of not engaging in her whole thing, I don’t know if it means anything at all to him. There’s also another option, a fan theory that they are collaborating. This is the most random dish at the buffet, like chicken with maraschino cherries or something. No one is touching that.

Yesterday Lainey mentioned that Matthew McConaughey joined Instagram, which I didn’t post about because I forgot. And I thought he was already on Instagram. But the creation of this account brings me back to the same question I had when Jennifer Aniston joined: how do they choose their handles? His is @officialmcconaughey. Why not use his full name?

Zac Posen’s line has shut down after not being able to find a buyer (the brand was likely hoping to be acquired by a luxury conglomerate like LMVH or Kering, or even Richemont). This is reverberating through the fashion world because Posen’s gowns were a red carpet staple and, along with Barneys going into bankruptcy, there’s definitely a doom-and-gloom feeling right now. There are a couple of independent brands based in NYC and London that are on the cusp of going out of business, big ones. It’s a brutal market.
