Another update on the Carl Lentz situation (here’s my post from this morning) comes from an insider. Esther Houston is married to Joel Houston, son of Hillsong leaders Brian and Bobbie Houston (Joel grew up with Laura Lentz and he co-founded the NYC branch with Carl). The screenshot is below, but here is the text: “Amazing to see all of the support being poured out for this despicable ongoing behaviour. Listen. I’m not gonna play this game. I fully denounce this and will make no excuse for it. You’ve been dealt a good hand, and you played it wrong.” Esther, to me, seems pissed at Carl but also at the community led by her in-laws. “Despicable ongoing behaviour” means something more than a momentary lapse of judgement; her husband is intertwined with Hillsong, so she is in a position to know what is going on behind the scenes. For her to publicly declare that she’s not going to accept his apology means there is dissent in the ranks at Hillsong. The call is coming from inside the house.

Esther Houston's Instagram comment

I know there’s a third Hemsworth brother but I never really remember there’s a third Hemsworth brother, you know? It’s not something my brain can retain. But I do remember the Larry Hemsworth gag on The Good Place.

Mathew Perry and Kevin James star in….

Do you decorate for the holidays? If so, when? This year we are doing outside lights on November 15 and inside decorations first week of December. There’s a new study that says people who decorate earlier are happier because of “visual cues and pathways” to excitement and nostalgia. If the study is accurate, January Jones is a very happy woman.

So it’s been nearly a week and I’ve been closely watching the results of this Instagram post. No acknowledgement from Madonna. I think we can call it.

Another show to add to the never-ending list of reunions is Family Ties. They will reunite for Stars In the House, which donates proceeds to help artists who are out of work due to the pandemic. While most of the cast will be there but I was disappointed that I didn’t see Justine Bateman on the list. Mallory is the character I remember most, particularly her style. (Did Alex P. Keaton grow up to be a MAGA guy?)

“Sorry, traffic.”
