Some personal news: I’ve finished Bridgerton. There’s been so much good writing on it (including Sarah’s here) so I don’t have much to add to the discourse except that I find myself caring about three characters and three characters only: Marina, the Duke of Hastings, and Penelope Featherington. Am I really expected to be able to tell the Bridgerton boys apart? Impossible. Penelope is played by Nicola Coughlan who I recently caught on The Jonathan Ross Show. She’s a delight – and a Housewives fan!

Lena Dunham is in quarantine in London and it’s been a quiet couple of years, by her standards. She’s still writing and podcasting and directed the pilot for HBO’s Industry, a full plate of work but light on headlines. Will that change for 2021? She’s been planning what she calls the “most ambitious project of my career.” Girls created a cottage industry of think-pieces and hot-takes for the entire time it was on the air so there’s probably an internal pressure that goes with any new project, like trying to follow up a hit record.

What do you think they did with all of the old Patriots gear?

The focus has been on the BenAna split (sorry) but I’ve had my eye on Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox. There hasn’t been anything dramatic but they were extremely hot and public and then went quiet. Is this their relationship maturing in private, or flaming out?

Have you seen the trailer for I Care A Lot? It’s been making the rounds on Twitter because it’s Rosamund Pike at her Amazing Amy best. Very curious to see if it lives up to the hype of the preview. (Lainey: her performance does – I screened it at TIFF and she’s a stone cold classic Pike.)
