Benny Blanco upset a very active fandom on social media and I’m not talking about Selenators. The Jollibee hive rose up after he dissed the chicken as soggy. I have a big Jollibee fan in my family and I’ve had it delivered about half a dozen times and my house is about a 20 minute drive from the nearest location. It has never arrived soggy and that is a testament to the process. Fried chicken is a delicate dish. I would argue that it’s as delicate as something like sushi because the timing of transport is key. It cannot sit in a steamy bucket – that’s a fried chicken sauna. Also, Jollibee serves their chicken with gravy – not as an extra side but as an essential part of the experience. The peach-mango pie is flaky and sweet (I want to try the ube but it’s often sold out). I haven’t tried the signature spaghetti but overall, I give it high marks. And upon trying it for a second time, so did Benny. In fairness to any fried chicken spot, reviews should be conducted when the food is hot and fresh. In the first video, the food was obviously sitting out.

If you are wondering why Nicki Minaj is trending, it could be the fight at her concert but it could also be because of the clusterf-ck with Canadian choreographer and TikTok star Donte Colley. His choreo was used in her show, she acknowledged it on Twitter and said he would be “seen, appreciated & paid”. Historically, Nicki loves mess but it’s actually not her who has been getting salty on social media. It’s another name your gossip memory might recognize: Beau Casper Smart. Yes, the guy JLo dated. He is the choreographer for Nicki’s show and in that role, he would be the one responsible for creating the sequences. In Nicki’s defense, it seems like she had no idea Beau lifted this from Donte until she saw it on social media. 

 

Casper’s doubling down on it and trying to make Donte look greedy for wanting the compensation even Nicki says he deserves is… a choice.

If Jeremiah Brent is not on your radar yet, he will be. He’s been cast on Queer Eye, has a new book out and has Oprah’s stamp of approval (she has a long-time relationship with Jeremiah’s husband, Nate Berkus). He is joining an established cast that has had its own drama (what reality doesn’t!). Rolling Stone’s Cheyenne Roundtree’s piece on the cast, which likens them to a manufactured boy band, dropped this morning. Pretty juicy read.
