She is the Queen Of All Feelings. And, as you know, if you’re a regular visitor to this site, I have all the feelings for Celine Dion. Haven’t you missed her?
When you think of Celine’s music and movies, what movies come to mind? Classic love stories, right? Epic love stories, right? Belle, Beast, Rose, Jack. Love that is timeless and permanent. Love that defies tragedy, love that is unapologetically corny, love in its most earnest form.
Earnest isn’t exactly Deadpool.
Which is why this partnership is so f-cking genius. Celine Dion is singing the Deadpool 2 theme song?!?
If you haven’t seen it, get ready – because this has all the qualities you want in a Celine Dion video: dramatic staging intercut with slow motion scenes from the movie, face-tuning, and enormous hand gestures. Like, at one point she actually crosses herself. If you didn’t cry out and fall to your knees at this point, I don’t want to be your friend.
And that’s before Celine showing us her comic timing. As IF she could ever take it lower than an 11. In fact, an 11 is probably her bare minimum. Have you ever, ever known Celine to phone it in? There’s a Deadpool in heels dancing around her. And she’s still feeling the f-cking sh-t out of that song for a movie about a dude who talks liberally about smelling his own balls as if she were singing for poor Jack who froze to death in the ocean.
Once again, big-ups to the Deadpool marketing team. Almost every single stunt has been unexpectedly wonderful.
