Chadwick. Holy sh-t. Boseman. I can’t get over Chadwick’s entire look. Every few minutes, I just say “Chadwick” out loud to no one in particular. Duana and Lainey have started to ignore me. HOLY SH-T, CHADWICK.
We were waiting for Chadwick Boseman. Every time a limo car door opened, I wanted it to be Chadwick. The anticipation was killing me. I was setting myself up to be let down but the King of Wakanda does not disappoint. He did not disappoint. Chadwick wore a Givenchy couture topcoat with the most gloriously detailed lapel, according to Vogue. I love this topcoat so much I want whomever (Michael Bae Jordan) I end up marrying to wear this. I want this topcoat to be the first thing I see walking down the aisle.
Chadwick Boseman walked that red carpet with such confidence, it was distracting. Every time I caught a glimpse of him in a monitor, I just wanted to stare. It’s not just that Chadwick Boseman is good looking. Duh. But it’s also that right now, in this moment, watching King T’Challa walk the Oscars red carpet while Black Panther continues to dominate the box office is something else entirely. We’re watching a phenomenon happen in real time. Soon, Wakanda Forever will be as ubiquitous as “may the Force be with you.” I am overwhelmed by my love for this film, Chadwick Boseman’s jacket and the rest of the cast looking phenomenal while it all comes together at this moment on Hollywood’s biggest night.
There are multiple pictures of Chadwick Boseman throwing up the Wakanda Forever salute on the red carpet. He even shouted it out during the ABC show.

Chadwick Boseman is the reigning king of the box office as Black Panther’s domestic gross is sitting at over $500 million. 500 MILLION. He was also clearly the king of the red carpet last night. He actually gave me Denzel Washington vibes. There was a time when we would be waiting for Denzel to arrive, not necessarily for what he was going to wear but for the swagger and excitement he would bring. The feeling was that when Denzel has arrived, now there’s a proper movie star here. When Chadwick arrived, it felt the same.
Chadwick Boseman gave all of those vibes without even being a nominee. The buzz around Black Panther could continue all the way to next year’s Oscars. I have 365 days to prepare myself for Chadwick’s outfit next year.
