Last night was the first night of TIFF 2017. My assignment was the Call Me By Your Name red carpet. Thank you for your emails and tweets about CMBYN. It’s my favourite film of the year so far. I LOVE IT SO MUCH. That said, I’m currently assigned to the junket tomorrow so instead of writing two posts about the premiere and the interviews with the cast, I’ll group it all together for a full post on Monday.
While I was interviewing Armie Hammer and my new crush, Timothee Chalamet, Sasha was producing Danielle Graham, the host of etalk, at the Papillon gala. Danielle interviewed Charlie Hunnam in the etalk lounge yesterday so she got two hits of Charlie in 12 hours. (Sarah was supposed to screen Papillon today but she’s just texted me that there were technical difficulties at the theatre so we’ll have her review ready whenever they’re able to reschedule the screening.)
Because I’m friends with assholes, here is what Danielle and Sasha texted over to me last night.
I have never seen Sasha work a camera as expertly as she did while working that slow pan up and down on Charlie Hunnam. NEVER.
Here’s a photo taken by Sasha of Danielle smiling at Charlie and Charlie smiling back:
Sasha never takes pictures of me that turn out this good when she’s producing me on a carpet.
She also posted this yesterday on Twitter:
First shoot of the day - Charlie Hunnam. Hot as hell...pretty much sums it up pic.twitter.com/MhRCws1HuJ— Sasha (@Sasha_Tong) September 7, 2017
Here’s a video of Charlie remembering Danielle – which, of course, she’s now practically tattooed across my desk:
Also, have you seen this of Jake Gyllenhaal in Toronto today…with a puppy!?!
