It is, by now, redundant to say that Dolce & Gabbana’s comeback is complete. It was complete probably at least two years ago. So many celebrities don’t seem to have a problem wearing D&G and promoting D&G. That said, I’m not sure D&G has put out a collection that’s worthy of their “comeback” since they needed to make said comeback. Imagine dressing Lupita Nyong’o in something so boring. I didn’t mention this in my Zendaya post earlier today – that she was given a giant croissant in Paris at the premiere of Challengers and posed with it but then handed it off because… what? Like what she really going to eat it? She doesn’t know how many hands were on it. That croissant travelled all the way from the bakery to god knows where else all the way to a red carpet where it waited in the hands of someone else – a photo is one thing, but please, please don’t make Zendaya eat it, omg. The latest chapter in the ongoing Cyrus Family mess: Noah Cyrus liked a Liam Hemsworth thirst trap. So to recap – she accused her mother of hooking up (and then marrying) her ex-boyfriend and now she’s trying to get with her sister’s ex-husband?! (Celebitchy)

Molly Ringwald watched one of her best-known movies with her daughter and, all these years later, has a reasonable perspective on being part of it, and what the story was, and what it meant then and how it reads different now. (Pajiba)

On this eclipse day, one of the bigger entertainment headlines has to do with Morgan Wallen who was arrested for throwing a chair off a rooftop and potentially seriously hurting someone. This is not his first brush with controversy. But also, Morgan Wallen makes a lot of people a lot of money. A LOT of money. Like maybe not as much as Taylor Swift in album sales but not that far off either. And my point is not competition or comparison, my point is about the business. He is big business which means that, well, if he does need help for whatever issues that he might have, are the people in his corner interested in getting him that help? I’m not saying that I’m a fan – I am not a fan, I don’t f-ck with his music, but I’m engaging with this as a pop culture student, and I don’t know if we’re talking about him in relationship to fame and industry and the commodification of a star at the expense of his well-being. It’s a story we all know. (The Mary Sue)
