I’m always here for an Emma Stone style display. I’m definitely not disappointed in how she’s kicking off Venice 2018, repping The Favourite.
Let’s start with what she wore at the photo call: a silver blousy dress with a swinging side-belt and gold accented shoes. Mixing metals, love it. This isn’t new, of course. But, as an example, Blake Lively wouldn’t have gone with this shoe combination. The way this outfit is fitting on Emma won’t be popular. Because of all the bulging. I love deliberate, intentional bulging, as an alternative to tightness and clean slick lines, so I’m all over it. The top wasn’t designed to be sleek. The whole point is for it to play with proportion and shape.
Emma was in a more conventional outfit upon arrival – a high collar long sleeved blouse in light orange-ish over a blue skirt of the same print. Gorgeous colours here. And the perfect shoe choice to go with it.
