If they could only find a way to have Emma Thompson around every year – not necessarily to present, but just to be present, to remind those assholes that they’re there to entertain, to be admired, to be recognised, to be honoured, and it’s a f-cking privilege, not the burden they can make it out to be.

Then again, most of them just aren’t capable of having that much fun. And definitely not in front of their teenage daughters. You know, if that were Julia Roberts, she’d be in full-on “mom” mode. Like, I shouldn’t bring my martini up on stage with me because that wouldn’t be appropriate. It’s not like Emma doesn’t give a sh-t about what’s appropriate. It’s just that her version of appropriate isn’t stupid. Also, has she ever looked better?
