Galliano for Dior Haute Couture Fall Winter 07/08 – always over the top, always exquisite, always completely impractical…but it’s couture, right? Why be sensible if you can afford a 50 thousand dollar dress?

This year however marked the House of Dior’s 60th anniversary and on the heels of the sudden death of Galliano’s stalwart best friend Steven Robinson, anticipation for the show was particularly heightened with many wondering if John could possibly pull it off without his right hand.

He did.

Held at Versailles, it’s no challenge to see his inspiration. And to mark the occasion, Galliano brought in a few of the runway’s biggest stars from today and yesterday:

Helena Christensen, Naomi, Gisele, Amber Valletta, Shalom Harlow, Karen Mulder – do you remember Karen Mulder???? Apparently she fought through some serious mental health issues and is on the up and up. Good for her. And of course… Linda. Leenda. Leeeenda. Linda Evangelista. Love, love, love.

Cristy Turlington was supposed to show – don’t know what happened there. And Kate Moss bailed at the last minute, supposedly too busted up over Pete Moss but also probably too smacked out to walk…which must have caused some major drama. She and Galliano are apparently super tight. Never mess with a designer Queen, you know what I mean?
