Really enjoying how Michelle Yeoh is playing with hair these days, experimenting with colour and wigs. I love the latest – a severe look on her with the blunt cut and those bangs, it works with the dress and the eye makeup. And as the Fug Girls say, makes her look like a “galactic emperor”. Sarah called Monica Barbaro’s Oscar nomination months ago, well before she showed up on any other expert prediction lists. She’s too modest but I’m shameless, so I will not stop bragging for her even if she wants me to stop. Now that Monica’s a proper Oscar nominee, here’s Dustin Rowles’s piece, “Who Is Monica Barbaro and Why Is She Awesome?” (Pajiba)

The last time I was in Chicago was two years ago, Sarah and I went with some friends to a great Italian place for dinner. I’m always trying to find reasons to go back there and hang with her and now I’ve just found an excuse, LOL. As if. This is a crazy ass price tag for a week – but if you can afford it, you can stay at Michael Jordan’s place. You know how I would talk Jacek into it? MJ is golf obsessed and I can see from the aerial that there are golf facilities on the property. (The Root)

Sofia Vergara is talking about cosmetic procedures – Botox and filler, etc. I agree with her on fillers, my opinion, like hers, is that it doesn’t work for people past a certain age. And also they make everyone look the same. (Celebitchy)

AV Club is publishing an excellent multi-part series on the History of Hindi Cinema starting from the 1950s. The latest installment covers the 70s and since this was such a creative period, it’s split into two parts. Part one was posted today. (AV Club)
