What is it?
A color-coded compliment.
What is it REALLY?
Artist Christina Lonsdale uses a double-exposure technique to combine a traditional portrait with a colorful “electrical impression” taken from hand sensors on classic 4x3 Polaroid film.
Do you think that is your actual aura?
No, but Christina Lonsdale is very nice and she does make a point of explaining she isn’t a medium or psychic, she’s an artist. And from an art perspective, her portrait practice is fascinating.
Why does your photo look like a mugshot?
Partly because you have to hold the pose for ten seconds, and partly because it was the end of the day and I was f*cking tired.
Would you do it again?
Totally. I might not believe in auras, but it’s a cool process and makes for an interesting photo. And yes, I’d like a do-over on the expression.
