Dear Gossips,

By now most of you know that Lindsay Lohan’s dress, which I called a knock off of a knock off of a Cavalli, because that’s what she made it look like, at that Kardashian wedding was the same Temperley that Pippa Middleton wore to Will & Kate’s reception. And what does Temperley have to say about that? Well, according to PEOPLE, and they try over at PEOPLE to be nice with their words about celebrities, even the ones as pathetic as Lindsay Lohan, “Temperley’s PR team says they didn’t lend Lohan the gown, but believe she purchased it from their L.A. store”. Amazing, right? Temperley could have phrased it differently. They could have blown out the usual ass kiss statement like “we are so pleased that Lohan chose a dress from our LA store”, whatever. Doesn’t sound like they bothered. Because if they had, PEOPLE would have come up with a much friendlier way to paraphrase their confirmation. Instead, the best PEOPLE could do was to verify that Temperley did NOT offer Lindsay Lohan a free gown, pretty much declaring that they don’t have a relationship with her, nor are they interested in one.

Thank you to all of you on email and Twitter who wrote to Duana and me yesterday after our tribute to Megan McCafferty’s Sloppy Firsts and the Jessica Darling series. Are you re-reading? I lost several days of new reading last week due to the re-reading. As for what I’m reading right now - it’s the book that’s given the publishing world a massive boner all year awaiting its release: The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. Was fortunate to receive an advance copy. And while I can’t say, since I’m not finished, if it’s as extraordinary and thrilling and worthy of the jizz as they all say it is, the fact is I’ve stayed up very late the last 2 nights, I am pissy about having to work and not being able to just blow off everything and get through the story, and I found myself reading in a cab yesterday, something I never do because I’m prone to motion sickness. So there’s that. Let you know when I’m done.
