Dear Gossips,

The National Board of Review named Up in the Air the Best Film of 2009 yesterday and also released its Top 10 films of the year as follows in alphabetical order: An Education, (500) Days of Summer, The Hurt Locker, Inglourious Basterds, Invictus, The Messenger, A Serious Man, Star Trek, Up, and Where The Wild Things Are.

Some surprises, non?

Especially considering what’s NOT on the list. Like The Lovely Bones and Nine. The Lovely Bones has been losing momentum. Picked months ago as a likely contender, the film is now underperforming with critics. Obviously still has a very good shot come Oscar but the box office has to be strong and it needs a big surge. Sigh. The worry grows. Because that trailer is so sh-t.

As for Nine… even if it’s not her fault, let’s blame Third Lip anyway.

It’s Friday and it’s busy. There’s a Brange sighting, some skinny bitches to look at, and a curiously timed date. New articles all day.

Have a great weekend!

Yours in gossip,

Lainey
