Intro for Dec 13, 2007
Dear Gossips,
Atonement led the way this morning earning 7 nominations including best actress and actor acknowledgements for both Keira Knightley and James McAvoy. Which is no surprise. Even before TIFF, the film’s buzz was loud. And deservedly so.
But will there even be a show? Due to the writer’s strike, there’s been noise that many of the actors won’t show up, leading to speculation that the event could be cancelled - intriguing because this has the potential to be one of the most star-studded Globes in years with the return of Julia Roberts and a long list of super elites as George Clooney’s early campaigning has paid off with a Best Actor nomination, Angelina Jolie has secured one herself in the category of Best Actress in a Drama, and Johnny Depp too for Sweeney Todd on the Comedy/Musical side.
No real surprises there…but it’s on the tv side where it went wonky.
Because Friday Night Lights … nothing. NOT ONE major nomination. The best show on television, the most perfect season, the most critically acclaimed…and nothing. But Grey’s Anatomy, after the ridiculously sh*tty season they had last year, and the ridiculously sh*tty season they’re continuing this year, Grey’s Anatomy is nominated for Best Drama. And ugh… of course that manipulative little bitch Katherine Heigl too.
Does the Hollywood Foreign Press Association hate Texas?
Full a full list of nominees, click here. If all goes as planned, the Globes go down on January 13th. That carpet will be mayhem!
Thursday – all day blogging, check back often.
Yours in gossip,

PS. Happy 42nd birthday to Rebecca from daughter Angelica in college. I hear gossiping on my site is a mother/daughter ritual. Am so honoured! Thank you, love you, owe you!
PPS. Catherine Zeta-Jones is not on Holiday Detox. Neither Rachel Weisz. Or Jennifer Connelly. Or Kate Hudson.
