Dear Gossips,

Don’t mean to start the New Year off on a nag note but it really is time for me to start on your asses again about Friday Night Lights. We finally caught up on Season 4 over the holiday and for those of you who are already fans, please know, I’ve watched 7 episodes so far and if the remaining 6 are as strong as the ones already aired, we are in for another perfect season. Just like Season 1. You remember Season 1 don’t you? Exactly. It’s THAT GOOD. The writing is sharp, the acting is killer, the new cast is excellent, and of course, our anchors, Tami and Eric Taylor, are as real and as engaging as ever. Also, with the emergence of Joe McCoy as a proper villain, FNL is now, if you can believe it, that much more intense.

Yes. Riggins takes his shirt off a lot.

I envy the ones who haven’t yet fallen in love with FNL. Because you can still discover it. And the joy that follows when you do… I envy that you get to experience the FNL joy for the very first time. There are 3 seasons on DVD. Remind me again why you haven’t already? Because you are allergic to great TV? Yes, I am shaming you for sitting through Jersey Shore when you’ve yet to sink into Dillon, Texas.

As for when Friday Night Lights will be available on conventional television (it’s only on DirecTV right now) – no date has been announced yet for NBC. F-ckers. Of course you can watch Season 4 in its entirety if you’re resourceful. It’s actually not hard to find. Sigh. At some point, since the networks are such dumb assholes for not supporting this show, I can see why it’s getting harder and harder to avoid that route.

It’s Monday. Welcome back. Happy New Year! Am blogging all day. Check back often.

Yours in gossip,

Lainey

PS. Casting Couch is not about Ali Larter or Monica Potter (good one) or Woody Allen.
