Dear Gossips,

January 7. Five years ago today, on a Friday, after usual business hours, timed strategically, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston announced to the world that they were separating. They were in Anguilla, on their last holiday together, photographed arm in arm kissing at the beach. It was the day the MiniVan Majority stopped believing in fairy tales. When the ordinary girl was sent off Mount Olympus after overstaying her welcome. When an iconic relationship was replaced by an even more iconic relationship.

How did Brad commemorate the occasion? He and Angelina went out for dinner in New York. More on that later.

For now, for those of you who still hark fondly back to the days of Brad & Jen, a photo retrospective will follow.

Did not watch the People’s Choice Awards. It’s not like there’s any suspense. Also had to catch up on a few days of Jon Stewart. Tuesday night’s episode featured a clip of Glenn Beck disparaging Indian culture because, as he put it, the word “Ganges” sounds like a sexually transmitted disease. His redneck ears also find fault with the term “Punjab”. I still don’t understand how Michael Buble spent an hour, and a bromantic hour, with that buffoon recently. Sickening.

Thursday – am online all day, check back often.

Yours in gossip,

Lainey

PS. The Good Mommy  is not Demi Moore or Christie Brinkley. Also not Debra Messing.
