Intro for Mar 15, 2011
Dear Gossips,
I think we need to move to Scotland. I love it here. I mean it’s beautiful, yes of course, and we’re in St Andrews, the birthplace of a royal love story, awesome, and the golf history, and the golfness everywhere (this is my new favourite made-up word, by the way), and the air, and even the highland cattle that doesn’t actually look like it could possibly exist beyond being an oversized puppet, all of it is so much amazingness but most of all, it’s the people. Scottish people are the nicest people I’ve met anywhere. SO. F-cking. Nice. Which… well maybe I don’t belong here. But it’s not hard to see why JK Rowling lives here.
I’ve been tweeting about my Scottish adventures – this is my Twitter: https://twitter.com/LaineyGossip. Our tour guide Jo, who was born here and returned here after 10 years in London, has been showing us the way though. I’m picking up some phrases. But it wouldn’t be a trip without a bet. Dylan and I are totally having a Scot-off on our last day. If you’re wondering about Scotland, Jo’s husband happens to be a travel writer specialising in Scotland. Click here to visit his site. And click here if you’re interested in hooking up with Jo if you ever get to Scotland. We have been cussing like ignorant f-cks around her and she doesn’t judge. I adore her.
Once again, I’ve prewritten several posts in advance to be rolled out through the day while I’m shooting. Should be back later in the afternoon to resume.
Yours in gossip,
Lainey
PS. Thank you for your tremendous response in support of the Humanitarian Coalition yesterday via Smutty Shout-Outs. They say it could get worse in Japan over the next week. And, as you’ve seen, the situation is already desperate. The Humanitarian Coalition and its 4 NGOs work to assist women and children in need of shelter, water, and emergency supplies. Please click here if you can help. And to those of you in Japan who have written me the last several days, who are demonstrating so much courage amid the devastation, please carry on, even though it seems you can’t, carry on, and please stay in touch.
