The Weekly LiveBlog with Sarah from Cinesnark will go today at 3pm ET/Noon PT. You can fight with her about her holiday box office predictions (even I wonder about her optimistic outlook re: Country Strong!) and we can discuss the benefits and disadvantages – if any – of having James Franco and Anne Hathaway host the Oscars.

My friend Lo emailed about this yesterday – how she couldn’t wait to be annoyed by Annie over-earnestness. Me too. She is really, really earnest. Remember the farewell at Saturday Night Live recently? Like, we get it, you’re grateful. And then I realised – only a miserable f-cking bitch would complain about earnestness. Which is why I’ve always said I was born in exactly the right era. Anything before 1970, when earnestness was still socially mandatory, would have been excruciating. Can you imagine the Anne of Green Gables era? Not that I didn’t love reading about Anne – of course I did, back to back to back to back and over and over and over again – but that doesn’t mean I would have wanted to live with her. Please. The bathroom situation back then alone is a problem. And they would have been much less inclined to talk about poo.

It’s a Brange day. Any Brange day is a good day. Especially when they want something from you.
