Dear Gossips,

Sarah wrote yesterday that Michael Bay was hinting at it. And yesterday the studio actually CONFIRMED it: Mark Wahlberg will star in Transformers 4. I thought the idea for Mark, where he seemed to be heading, was to continue to work on projects that at least pretend to have a story. Mark Wahlberg isn’t Kellan Lutz. Mark Wahlberg doesn’t need a mega franchise. And he certainly doesn’t need the money. Then again, for some there’s never enough of it. I suppose I’d rather see Marky Mark making a straight up cash grab than trying to argue for the sake of the “art”.

Near tears, obviously.

The strategy, I think, has to be this: see it the first time a complete sobbing mess, then turn around and immediately see it again, this time more composed. It’s your favourite movie of the year. It will be worth it.
