Dear Gossips,

It was all TIFF all weekend for me and several parties every night and stories featuring Bill Murray, James McAvoy, Marion Cotillard, James Franco, Rachel McAdams and more. Which is why I was only able to watch bits and pieces of the MTV VMAs.

So just a few quick thoughts: if it has to be Taylor Swift vs Kanye West, I'm going with Kanye West. Maybe it was the moment that huge digital sun rose right behind her as she sang of the promise of change and hope. The obviousness is just too...obvious. Florence Welch? Bitch can jump up and down AND stay in tune. Please communicate this to Chris Martin.

And how about Drake? A year ago you snidely called him the wheelchair kid on Degrassi. Now Mary J is singing backup for him on the Video Music Awards. Swagger.
