For those of you who email regularly asking for Jay Baruchel – he and Alison Pill are engaged. A little bit of Canadian entertainment royalty! He’s 28, she’s 25. Jay confirmed it last night at the Genie Awards, thanking his “fiancée” onstage during his acceptance speech. They’ve been together less than a year, met when he was shooting the upcoming hockey movie Goon.
“I bought her a 180-year-old Victorian wedding band and I was going to give it as a nice kind of gift for Christmas…and I decided in that moment I might as well call a spade a spade and I’m pretty sure my words were ‘F-ck it, do you want to marry me?’ to which she said, ‘Yes, of course.’”
Cute, right?
